Dessert : Apple Crisp
Filling
8 cups of sliced tart apples
2 tablespoons of turbino
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons of water
Topping
3/4 cup of rolled oats
1/2 cup of unbleached white flour
1/2 cup of turbino
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 taspoon of nutmeg
1/4 cup of canola margarine, chilled and cut into small cubes
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Spread the apples in a greased rectangular baking dish. Combine turino and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. Stir apples to coat well. Sprinkle with water.
In a bowl, combine oats, flour, turbino, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix well. Add margarine and cut in with fork until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
Sprinkle topping evenly over the apples and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
Serve in bowls with frozen yoghurt.
This recipe will make around 10 servings.
